Stroll the medieval heart of Baku the Icheri sheher castle, learn about the kings of Azerbaijan in 11-14 centuries by visiting the Shirvanshah’s Palace with the Maiden Tower built in the 12th century and inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments. Juma Mosque in the historic Icheri Sheher, the mosque has been rebuilt several times. The present Friday Mosque was built in 1899 uBaku. A minaret, constructed in 1437, adjoins Friday Mosque. Lunch in “Chinese” restaurant. Excursion to “Heydar Aliyev” center “ designed by Iran-British architect Zaha Hadid and noted for its distinctive architecture and curved style that eschews sharp angles. The most interesting section of the Center is the Museum of Heydar Aliyev. Excursion to Carpet museum. The museum displays Azerbaijani carpets of weaving techniques and materials from various periods. Excursion to “Nizami” street. Dinner in the restaurant. Return to the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to fire temple “Ateshgakh”. The territory of the temple is known due to its unique natural phenomenon - burning of natural gas. The temple in its present shape was built in the 17th – 18th centuries, but the history of the place goes from the beginning of our era. Excursion to burning mountain “Yanardag”. Actually, it is rather a hill than a mountain, with natural gas burning on its slope from ancient times. Lunch in the restaurant. Excursion to Qobustan Located 60 kilometers from Baku is the open- air museum - The State Historical-Artistic Reserve “Qobustan”. There, on the site of ancient people, you’ll see a lot of rock art pieces - petroglyphs. “Qobu” means a ravine, narrow, hence Qobustan - the place of ravines. The oldest of the found images belong to the Mesolithic era, but the scientists suppose that life existed there much earlier, consequently Gobustan can be considered of the cradles of civilization.
